When Ben Beussink is not playing with worms in the basement he is the worship pastor at a church in Troy, Missouri. A previous middle school biology teacher, Ben is able to apply his love of science and teaching into creating Suburban Worms. Ben enjoys listening to apologetic podcasts, going to ska and skate punk concerts, and watching Cardinals baseball.

Monica Beussink

DR. WORM

Monica Beussink is a real doctor, but she’s not a real worm. Monica is a seventh grade English teacher at her old middle school in Wentzville, Missouri. She loves learning and recently earned her doctoral degree in instructional leadership from American College of Education. When not teaching and grading, Monica enjoys reading dystopian books, playing Animal Crossing, and watching Asian dramas on Netflix.

Lauren Beussink is Ben and Monica’s uber chatty and adorably affectionate cat. Although terrified of strangers and other cats, Lauren loves snuggling, making biscuits, and talking with her family. She especially enjoys receiving patte every single time the baby wakes up in the middle of the night.
